Overall for a 3-star place the hotel delivers as expected, with a few extras that may or may not be to your liking. The location is convenient to Nob Hill, but is located directly on Central and all the color that avenue brings. Front desk personnel are friendly, but it seems that the hotel in general is still working out a few kinks (asked for minimal amenities that should have been in-room already but they never appeared, “speakeasy” is going through a revamp, stated web prices for things were different onsite, and pool area could use a touch more attention), but all-in-all a solid (and boutique, local owned) option that delivers more character than the chain options in town. Room was large, and all the basic amenities were present as expected - however, the entire hotel and rooms seem like a quick-flip of a travelodge or motel 6 (furnishings varied from thoughtful to cheaply installed), and wear is already starting to show. Hoping that the owners put a little more love into maintenance (and security - for instance, not putting room numbers on the publicly displayed parking pass for your car) to perfect the “experience,” which is really what they are aiming for. Last bit - be warned that during peak times the costs rival those of 4/5-star hotels in NYC or SFO - temper your expectations, and know that you’re paying for availability, not star-ratings, or the amenities those properties offer.
