Overall a good experience.
Was a good sized two bed apartment with kitchen and large lounge with nice city views via a big corner balcony. Easy walk to Surfers shops and supermarkets.
No noise from other rooms or floors (we were on 11). Lots of street noise with the tram passing directly below, but won't bother anyone use to living in a city.
I can see why some reviewers find the place a little "dated."
Little things like marks on the walls, some shabby bits of furniture, and some cheap tables/chair (though doesn't seem consistant - one room I visited had much nicer stuff), poorly sealing outside doors (the whistling wind was constant at times), woobly tiles, an oven that took literally an hour to get to heat, and paint over doorjams making them stick let's the place down.
Cleanliness was ok, but dishes needed rewashed as they ask the occupants to do so at the end and it was done poorly. A new set of sterilised dishes and cutlery (which were also rather cheap) would be much preferred.
Main gripe would be we didn't get the internet codes until five days in, you have to sign up to their "club," to get it, and ultimately had to ask.
Similarly the supply of basics like tea/coffee/sugar were minimal and needed to be purchased (along with oil, salt, pepper, etc).
In comparison I stayed two nights at what is likely the most budget place in Surfers just prior and had wifi on arrival, daily service, and as many of the basics as I needed (plus snacks!).
