Stayed at the Grand Villa Inn in Houston, Texas, for two nights. While the location is convenient, right off the expressway, I was disappointed with several aspects of my stay. Though the room had been updated, the bed linen and towels were in horrible condition, with visible stains. It’s clear they need to upgrade both.
The cleanliness also left something to be desired—especially around the baseboards, which need more attention. The hotel is making some improvements, but they still have a long way to go.
I also had a frustrating experience with check-in. I arrived an hour early and was told I needed to pay a $10 fee to check in early, even though I planned to check out well before the 11 a.m. checkout time. After waiting in the parking lot for 30 minutes, the front desk staff finally allowed me to check in without the fee, but the whole process felt unnecessary.
Would I stay here again? No. Would I recommend it? Also no.
