If you are looking for Greek hospitality, this is not the place to go. You will be „nickeled and dimed“ at every turn. From our initial contact with the owner suggesting we could carry the luggage uphill to the hotel from the ferry, to warnings about extra costs for fresh towels, using the AC during the day and having breakfast in the common area.
The whole breakfast setup is unpleasant. You are not allowed to serve yourself, but the owner doles out the food. The coffee tasted so weak as if it had run twice through the filter. The owner makes you carry a tray with your breakfast up steep stairs to your room and asks you to bring it back. We skipped breakfast after the first day.
Unfortunately in our room the terrace offered in the mornings no shade and no privacy to the next door unit. It was basically unusable because of a loud AC unit blowing hot air in your back.
Advertised beach loungers and beach umbrellas were not available. Upon request, the owner tried to gaslight us by providing on day four kiddie folding chairs and a
flimsy umbrella.
Add to that drainage issues in the bathroom sink and shower that she had the nerve to blame on us, plus ants!
The exchanges with her were so toxic that we seriously considered moving to a new hotel. Fellow travelers beware, Sifnos is a wonderful island that you should enjoy in a hotel that offers true Greek hospitality.
