I highly recommend this place for a holiday. It's not commercial, it's not busy—you can feel like you've gone to visit your family in Africa. It's a great location as well, with everything close by. Mallum Cave (a natural, unique, and beautiful swimming pool) is just within walking distance. I visited Stone Town and Jozani Forest—you can get there for about 50 dollars on a return trip. The hotel organised the other trips too, for example, the Safari.
Back at the hotel, from the first steps into the reception, the staff were lovely and very helpful, speaking many languages, including English. Happiness and Hussain are so genuinely nice that I immediately fell in love with the place. I came with my teenage daughter and stayed for 11 nights (unfortunately, just 11) in one of the huts. We were over the moon. The room was clean, and the character of the space matched perfectly with the land's beauty. You can see the ocean from the cosy house.
Every evening, the mosquito man—another lovely housekeeper, Baboo or Yolanda—would clean and protect our room from mosquitoes. By the way, we never got bitten. The hotel restaurant is just stunning, with modern, rustic decor that blends perfectly with the natural environment. The swimming pool may be small, but it’s sufficient when you have such a massive, stunning white sand beach.
The owners—Zue, Keisy, and Meyra—are excellent, well-spoken in many languages, and always very helpful with everything you need.
