The only reason this place got 3 stars is because the clerk genuinely cared. He saw me and my fiance leaving shortly after we checked in. He came out as I was loading our car to ask why we were leaving. I told him why, he was not surprised —said he’s been trying to get the owner to address these issues. He even went back in to get my DoorDash delivery for me.
This place was absolutely disgusting. It needs to be condemned by the health department. There are bugs everywhere. Roaches, white bugs all over bathroom, black larvae/eggs under the carpet and in the wall. It smelled like death when I walked in my room. It had not been cleaned. The carpet was torn up from rats.
Right when we pulled up, 4 cops pulled in behind us —store across the street had just been robbed and the suspect was apparently inside this disaster of a motel. After waiting to make sure we were safe and reluctantly checking in…. We left.
The clerk should be rewarded for his loyalty and care —the owner of this place must not care if he knowingly allows this place to be in this condition and do nothing about it. This place is going to end up killing someone with all the diseases festering in it.
And of course, The owner is refusing to issue us a refund. Par for the course, it takes a certain level of indecency and scum to own a place like this.
I feel bad for the clerk and wish he would find a better establishment for his care and skillset. He hospitable, unlike this place.
