La Maison Hotel is actually a guesthouse located in an upscale residential area of Islamabad. First-time visitors should note that it's situated in an unmarked building - typical for Pakistani guesthouses. This proved challenging when arriving at 1:30 AM, as my taxi drove around searching for any signage until a neighborhood watchman finally confirmed I was at the right location.
The neighborhood is safe, surrounded by nice homes, and conveniently located for exploring Islamabad's attractions. Getting around is easy using Careem taxis. The room offered some comfortable features, including an excellent bed and reliable internet connection. I appreciated the two complimentary water bottles provided, and the room was notably quiet. Breakfast is available for an additional charge, though I didn't try it.
However, there were maintenance issues that need attention. The room showed signs of wear with cracking paint and spots on the walls, the wall-to-wall carpeting was coming loose, and the bathroom had an unpleasant odor.
The staff was courteous and efficient, with both check-in and check-out being handled promptly. While the property has its shortcomings, it offers a quiet, safe location for travelers who prioritize neighborhood safety and convenience over luxury amenities. Future guests should arrange clear directions in advance, especially for night arrivals.
