The Hotel is an Historic Inn and it is a fantastic example of a bed & breakfast. The building, itself, as well as furniture, sitting rooms, lamps, accents, all had an authentic look and were pristine and beautifully placed. The hotel provided a split of wine to enjoy in the evening. The breakfast service was great, being a formal hot sit down meal with several options; and ours were perfectly prepared.
There were a couple of unfortunate surprises. First is that there is no elevator and a steep winding staircase leads to the upstairs rooms. Not a problem for us - it's an Historic Inn after all - but others may have difficulty. More unsettling was that our bath - altho private - was down the hall. The Inn did provide robes for us to use, but the trip past a few other occupied rooms was a little uncomfortable. Had this been indicated upfront, we would have been better prepared or made other arrangements.
Finally, the Inn has plenty of parking behind the building, but the route there requires moving 2 lanes to the right on an exit ramp from the expressway. Again, not a problem for us, but it does require some care.
Overall, a lovely building and a good value, but guests need to know the circumstances.
