My stay at The Shepherds Rest was for only one night. During my brief stay the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was compact, neat and clean, with a double bed, toilet, shower and drinks making facilities. I found this room more than adequate for my needs. There was no TV, which might not be for everyone.
The location is in close proximity to a bus stop, if you wish to access the local bus transport network, which is approximately 15 - 20 mins travelling time to Halifax town centre. There are local shops, takeaways and eateries that are a short walk away and there is a pub of course, downstairs. There are a couple of flights of steps to access the room, which could potentially be an issue. I would advise to clarify about checking out and enquire about wifi.
I would say that if you want a 'no frills' room as a base to stay, for work, to commute, to walk and explore the area then The Shepherds Rise might be an ideal place to stay.
