During my 2 week trip in Greece, my stay at Golden Silence was one of the highlights of my vacation.
A Greek family with young children owns the place and also lives onsite. They do not speak much English and don't have internet – I highly suggest you print out on paper your confirmation if you book online and that you mention that you have booked with the office (a lovely young woman who speaks english takes care of the online reservations but does not run the place, nor does she work onsite. You might not even meet her). You can reserve online, but you pay cash.
The language barrier and the absence of internet were no factor to disliking the Studios for one bit – it was even refreshing. Living with them was even a charming and heartwarming experience: you have the impression of living with the family even though you have your own studio. It was a relief to not be in a touristic hotel.
As for the studio, everything is to praise: it is large and roomy, with AC and equipped kitchen (we even had a cheese grater), a balcony where we enjoyed dinner at night, and a new clean functional bathroom.
For the price that you pay, it is an ABSOLUTE BARGAIN! Families will enjoy the place. Backpackers will never want to leave.
It is a 2 minute walk to the beach of Agios Prokopios and close enough to the action without being disturbed by it. If you take the bus from the port, you will see it on the way to Agios Prokopios bus stop (on your left).
Would stay here again, no hesitation.
