The resort is in an island. As it can be accessed only by boats, guests are at the mercy of the resort owners. They tried to restrict where we go and where we eat. We were picked up from the Uchakada main road, but the driver left us in the car and disappeared for 20 minutes soon after. The food prices were exorbitant. After we expressed a desire to have our lunch elsewhere, they claimed the menu was for foreigners. The final bill was arbitrary -- our lunch tab was calculated to bring it upto a round sum. We were able to bargain on boat prices and found a pretext to get to the main land to grab dinner furtively. We were served a very disappointing breakfast - dry toast, eggs, bit of old upma and dreadfully brewed tea, nothing traditional.
On the other hand, this is one of the most affordable resorts in Poovar and it is run by one family.
