Terrible experience. Both Marksman and Expedia are accountable.
We only stayed two nights, but was charged for 4 nights. I had communicated with Expedia a few hours after checking in, to advise that we were not happy, and it was not up to our expectations.
After a back and fourth with Marksman, Expedia said that Marksman will charge us for the first two nights as it’s their policy. So we stayed the two nights that couldn’t be refunded.
On the third day, at approx 6am, we checked out and left key in the box and later that day checked into new accommodation.
Fast forward one week. I notice we haven’t received any refund for the remaining 3 nights and the app still says I stayed there for 5 nights. I called both Expedia and Marksman, to sort things myself, both were not helpful at all and hid behind their “policies”, instead of doing the right thing.
Result: Expedia washed their hands and said you need to deal with Marksman direct, and Marksman said with out a “variation” sent to them by Expedia we can only refund one night. They also said “we were not aware you were checking out”, so for one whole day they had no idea. What a joke!
Like I said, Marksman is trash, I will never stay there ever again. Hard to deal with, and no willingness to accept accountability and pay for the nights that were actually stayed. Customer service was trash.
Expedia, also trash! Agents were clearly able to see the conversations that took place previously, and still didn’t act. Trash!
