The key point of this Hotel is its location next to the beach. You leave the hotel garden, pass the train rails and are basically on the beach, which is in wonderful condition (cleanliness, sun beds, etc.) and calm (only few people there, no vendors strolling around).
The hotel itself is still in the process of refurbishment. Our room was brand-new refurbished, however, the standard (e.g. bathroom, fridge, AC) was mediocre by best. Additionally, pests were present (mosquitoes, roaches), since you couldn't close windows / doors entirely during the nighttime. That is all fine for a backpacker budget hotel, however, if you charge 75 USD per night like the hotels next to it (Wunderbar Hotel, Amal Hotel), you should meet their higher standards as well. Payment via card wasn't possible, which is ridiculous with that price if you stay some days.
I wouldn't recommend it if you get something else in Bentota for the price.
