The property is just a little tired. The room was clean, but the linens were piling and very thread bare. I was EXTREMELY frustrated that I had prepaid for the one night, Saturday, 8/17/24. Due to an unfortunate circumstance we had to leave a day later, 8/18/24. Which meant I had to slide all of my hotel reservations a day. When I called the property directly at approximately 12:30pm/1:00pm to ask if I could change my arrival by one day to Sunday, 8/18/24, the person on the phone was rude and said because I had booked through a third party, Expedia, I would have to call them directly. I explained I was a Hilton Honors member and they said it didn't matter. When I called Expedia immediately after my call to the HOME2 Rapid City, I was told no one answered at the property, but they would email the property and continue trying to reach someone. I called a few hours later to check, and I was told the "property" wasn't willing to work with me on refunding the pre-pay, or sliding it to the next night, 8/18/24. When we arrived at the property, HOME2, Rapid City, the receptionist told me that no one from Expedia had ever reached out until Sunday, 8/18/24 mid morning. She said they would have been happy to slide the reservation to Sunday, 8/18/24 without any additional charges "if" they had heard from Expedia on Saturday, 8/17/24. Especially because I was a Hilton Honors member. So in the end, I paid for a room we never stayed in AND a new reservation for Sunday, 8/18/24.
