The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. He gave me a wonderful overview of the history and sites, and spoke English very well. He was incredibly accommodating and assisted me with my next hotel. The only downside is that it was a distance from Ortiega. Not knowing the area, I probably would have preferred to stay on Ortiega. The walk to and from was doable - about 25 minutes if you don't get lost, however, on my way home in the early evening, I saw someone try to break into a car in the middle of a busy square, which was unnerving as a solo traveler who rented a car. Otherwise, it's lovely. The hotel is situated next to the famous crying Madonna and archeological sites, so if you are into that more, it's absolutely perfect.
