Firstly - the location of Margi House.
Stunning views, almost on a par with staying at a similar property in Koukanaries.
The rooms were very clean, and the daily attention to the room from the housekeeper much appreciated.
The beds were extremely comfortable.
We were little disappointed with the facilities on offer in the small kitchen area but were only using it to cook breakfast.
A non-stick pan would have helped, along with a spatula (we had to use a cake slice to scrape the food off the pan).
A chopping board would also have helped.
Knowing about the steep slope up to the property was not the same as experiencing it.
We didn’t expect it be so long (or, indeed, so steep).
I only attempted climbing up once – this left me so breathless that I didn’t try again – thank goodness we had hired a car.
Our main disappointment was the lack of Reception facilities.
We were not greeted by the owners but were left to manage with the assistance of staff with very little knowledge of English.
The owners didn’t appear at any time during the week, which made us feel somewhat undervalued, we were warned the Reception area may not be manned, but we did expect to meet the owners at some point.
They did text a greeting of welcome, which did not compensate for personal contact.
We were the only guests the week we stayed and had there been an emergency (medical or otherwise), I don’t know how we would have coped.
It was difficult to gain any information about taxis, or restaurants in the area.
