My reservation was for a suite on 8-17-24, made on 8-6-2024. I called 8-14-24 and confirmed with the employee on duty my reservation for a suite at the Regency Suites in Gladewater Texas; and that we could check in early b/w 2 pm and 2:30 pm (check in is 3 PM). The employee on duty said, "we don't have any Queen beds available on the 1st floor for the 17th." On 8-17-24, I called at 1:45 PM to verify early check in and was told the following: there is a $10.00 early check in fee (since when?!!! I've never been charged an early check in fee) and that our suite had been given away to someone else!! When we arrived around 2:15 pm, the employee on duty said he couldn't see when our suite was given away; and that we could have a room with 2 queen beds on the 1st floor (I was told there weren't any available). Long story short--The young man on duty "waived" the $10.00 fee. He claimed that he gave me "the better price for our room" since we had to take a room with queen beds (Since when? The Suite and the rooms with 2 queen beds are the same price!) When we entered the double queen bed room, #104, --it was littered with dead bugs. He swept up the bugs. Please note: This was in East Texas with >100 degree temperatures. The control buttons on the AC unit that changed the temperature ( up and down arrows) didn't work. The employee was aware of this malfuction in the AC unit, since he couldn't get the buttons to work either. What an awful experience!
