Let's start with the very few good parts. The guy at the desk named Jason, who's originally from Colombia, is awesome. He is a sincerely friendly guy who did everything he could to make everyone's stay there better, from taking time to offer insider advice about Rome to fixing everything wrong in the room. The hostel is also in a pretty good location.
Unfortunately, I can not recommend staying here. The shower flooded every time that someone used it. And I mean flooded, as in overflowing the bathroom floor into the hallway. The bathrooms have no locks. My flight landed three hours late, so I didn't arrive at the hostel until 9pm. The hostel hadn't send me the promised "special instructions", and I did not have an EU phone to call. Finally, a waitress at a nearby restaurant called for me, since there's no front desk. The guy who answered almost didn't let me in, since I didn't arrive before 8pm, a requirement that I was not aware of. He constantly reminded me that if I had arrived 5 minutes later, I would not have been able to enter that night. The internet did not reach our dorm room, so I had to sit outside the office to use it. Even though the two other people in my dorm room were great, it was simply impossible to wake up or go to bed without waking everyone else up, mostly because we had to slam the door to shut it and because of the room's layout. All in all, this place has potential, but I cannot recommend it with so many other options available in Rome.
