BEWARE!
We recently stayed at Hotel Plaza Alger. We booked 6 rooms for 5 nights. We are a Women's Canadian national sports team.
No wifi! from the first day they said there would be wifi repaired in an hour or two. This story continued until out departure.
From the 21-24 the front desk repeatedly asked me to pay for the 4 of the rooms as Expedia only ever paid them for 2 rooms. I supplied receipts but the pressure kept coming. I told them when there was wifi I could contact you to discuss the matter. Eventually they realized I wasn't giving them a second payment so they stopped.
In 5 of the 6 rooms there was theft of toiletries. (Eye Liner, Razors, Toothpaste, deodorant were all stolen)
The prices in the restaurant fluctuated daily. The first day when it was only girls it was 2500, with men there it went to 2000, Algerians paid significantly less. They tried on 3 occasions they tried to over charge us.
Sexual harassment! One of my athletes was cornered by a hotel employee and propositioned.
Someone went into a vacant room across the courtyard and called the girls room. He asked her to look out the window and spoke to her while looking at them and proceeded to tell her how beautiful she was, she hung up after this. This room was vacant, immediately after the call this person left the room and never returned. We believe it was a hotel employee as they knew the room #of the girls, how to contact and had access the vacant room.
