I had an extremely disappointing experience at The Candler during my birthday celebration. While taking a picture in the lobby with my phone, a security guard confronted me, saying no pictures were allowed. This was disheartening, as I specifically booked this hotel for its beautiful lobby ambiance. Things only got worse when the same security guard harassed me and accused me of not being a guest, which was both embarrassing and completely uncalled for.
At checkout, I was abruptly asked to leave within 30 minutes, despite my husband speaking with management about our stay. To make matters worse, I was later charged a late check-out fee. This experience left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome on what was supposed to be a special occasion.
The only positive part of my stay was the bellhop, who was absolutely amazing. Their kindness and professionalism stood out in an otherwise disappointing experience.
Hospitality should be about making guests feel comfortable, not mistreated. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone who values professionalism and good customer service.
