We selected this hotel based on the location and positive reviews. The room was not exactly as we thought we had booked, but it was comfortable and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job with room maintenance. We had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. AC was constant and the fan blows at a steady pace, which you can adjust. This was good. The buffet breakfast selection was generous. Most of the wait staff were friendly and helpful. Walking into town for meals was a great option if you don’t want to eat at the hotel. Only drawbacks, there are no quiet spaces to sit and read, music is piped everywhere and even though there are no smoking signs, people smoke at the steps and on the driveway which drifts up to the porch area. My suggestion to the hotel is to maximise the space on the north side with Adirondack chairs for people who don’t have balconies to have a quieter space. This is likely deliberate as that way people don’t have access to the bar and restaurant, so this would not help with profits. The doors to the rooms don’t shut quietly, so a lot of door banging happens. Dogs may also bark in rooms as they are dog friendly. It was a great one time experience, but perhaps we have realised we are not resort people. The hotel has tons of character and the town of St Andrew’s has a very laid back feel.
