Having had to make a booking at the last minute, the Roy Bridge Hotel was the only hotel in the area which could accommodate a family of five. Overall, the accommodation was just about acceptable but it was quite expensive for what it was. Obviously, the location in the Scottish Highlands is excellent and this is the one factor that goes some way to account for the price. Other positives were: comfortable beds with clean bedding, ample parking, USB charging points in the bedroom, the exterior of the building has character. On the down side: the interior is tired and much in need of a entire face-lift. For example, the door in the bedroom had been repainted from a dark colour to white but it was sorely in need of a second coat. Elsewhere, wood chip wallpaper was much in evidence and the bathroom door frame was a study in a how many different locks one might fit over the the years. In sum, there was nothing fundamentally wrong but it could be so much better.
