We travel regularly. Many nights we have to check in much later because of how our schedule works. When we do, we will contact the property days ahead of time to be sure that 1) there is an attendant at the desk 2) the night audit will not cancel out our rooms. Our stay was for Aug 23. We contacted the property on the 21 of Aug. Spoke to the front desk. They told us this was fine but we needed to call when we were getting close to the facility as they lock the doors at night. We made note of this and did as instructed. On the night of the 23 / morning of the 24, we began calling the facility. There was no answer. Both myself and another member of our team tried to no avail. Faced with this dilemma and it being 2 am, we made the decision to stop at another hotel that was open as we had no way of knowing if the property where our reservation was made was even open, or if there was an attendant as no one answered the phone.
We made contact w the facility four times since the incident. Two of these times, the front desk attendant told me to call back on Saturday (it was a Tuesday) as that is when the manager is in. I did as requested, strange as the request was. I spoke to someone that called themselves the manager. They listened to my concerns and said they were going to speak to an employee and they would deal with the refund. We have yet to receive one, no contact from the facility. I feel we are just being ghosted as they think we have no recourse. Book at your own risk
