I stayed for one night to judge at a nearby show. This is a period listed building with a lovely breakfast room, a friendly owner and a delightful Spaniel puppy. I had a standard single en suite room as I was on a tight budget. It was basic, but fine for me for one night. It had a good TV with plenty of choice of channels. There is a very welcome room fridge, so I was happy with that. There are nice places to eat within easy walking distance and it is close to the very picturesque canal basin.
The breakfast was nice - £9.50 extra.
Slight frustrations - parking is difficult on the street outside if there is a function in the nearby RBL Hall. However, I moved my car there in the morning to load up so not an issue. There is a free car park about 200m away.
The power cord in the shower had broken, so no hot water as I could not reach the control, so could not shower. I explained this to the owner, and I do not think he knew about it, so I feel sure that he will have fixed it by now.
The pine-slatted bed was a bit creaky, but actually very comfortable for me, so I had a good night's sleep.
