Aya Beach resort is a really lovely and quiet hotel tucked away in the corner of the beach. It has direct access to the beach and when the tide is up, you can go from the stairs to the ocean and have a swim.
The food was really tasty and had good sized portions, they have specials that change daily which is a nice touch. If you fancy changing it up a bit, there is a really amazing local restaurant about 5 minute walk down the beach, called Sunset which serves amazing seafood at a good price.
The beach is hard to relax on when the tide is up, but around the pool is full of sand so it gives you the vibe you are sitting on the beach anyway.
The one negative, which is not Aya’s fault is the beach is full of beach boys trying to drag you in for a chat to sell you an excursion, which after a while becomes really annoying! You just need to tell them no and ask them to leave you alone. Stay away from a person called Mr Cool, he will not give you a nice experience and will not pay the local people their deserved money if you pay him.
Overall, a lovely stay and we would recommend to others if staying in Kizimkazi.
