We stayed in a triple room for 2 nights in Osaka. The triple room we had was 3 Japanese futon style beds on a bamboo floor. It's a traditional Japanese setup, but would take some getting used to if you're accustomed to a Western-style bed. They do seem to have normal rooms, though. Our room got very hot when we were away, and the air conditioner was not too powerful. We could open the window, but it didn't really have a functional screen. The bathroom was fine, our 6' 1" friend could use the shower comfortably. Overall the condition was OK, not great, but usable if you're flexible.
The location is good. The place is in a very residential neighborhood that's about 5 min walking distance to the nearest subway station. It's very quiet at night, and close to a few convenience stores. Restaurants in the Dotonbori area are about a 20 min walk away.
Overall we were OK with the Japanese style beds and could deal with the temperature in the room, so we enjoyed our stay.
