My curiosity was piqued when I read stellar reviews of EPIC Hotel and Suites on a FB Group called “Expats in Kigali”. Knowing that I was returning to Rwanda for a Rwandese wedding and would have a few additional days to head to the northeastern corner of the country, I booked a room for myself and my friend, and off we went.
Much to our mutual surprise, we entered a truly delightful respite- with perhaps the best bed I have ever slept on, exceptional management (with a special shout out to Mr. Sandeep Moorjani, the Food and Beverage Manager, who was EXCEPTIONALLY helpful, attentive, friendly without being intrusive, and solicitous. All he wanted was an ultra-satisfied customer and talk about aiming to please!!! If he wasn’t trained in a Swiss hotel management school, it must have been somewhere just as outstanding.)
My friend and I had spent the preceding night within Akagera National Park (no other lodging names to be specified within this review, though p.m. me if you want a FABULOUS recommendation!!) I cannot begin to describe how AMAZING it was to have a/c and unforgettable water pressure for the shower at EPIC. We felt dusty and dirty and it was super relaxing to get all cleaned up there.
My room was quite spacious, and came with two bottles of complimentary water and fabulously plush cotton towels. Apparently, there was a directory with numbers to reach reception, etc., but I didn’t use it. No space left here to expand except... GO!! GO!!
