This hotel is a bad value overall. The rooms, while small, are very clean and neat and the hotel owner is helpful with advice about what to do in Rio, but the price per night is way more than it should be for what the hotel has to offer.
The neighborhood is ok, although it's far from the main places you'd want to be as a tourist in Rio. There are cheap buses or not so cheap taxis to take you to Copacabana, Ipanema or other places, but then there's no point in staying at Pouso Verde in the first place. The only good thing about the location of particular hotel is that the trailhead for the trail to Corcovado is about 20 minutes walking and it's something definitely worth doing. The breakfast is so meager and sweet that I was getting hungry just 2 hours after I was eating it. For a "bed and breakfast", this was very disappointing.
I also stayed in one of the big hotels on Copacabana and I paid there only about 60% of what I paid at Pouso Verde. And for that I got a much better location and a very decent breakfast.
In conclusion, as I stated above, I think this is not a good value for money. If the price was half of what it was, then it may be competitive with some other hotels in Rio although I would personally probably still choose to stay in the Copacabana hotel, but at this price it was a rip off.
